New Horizons Society, 234 Menzies Street, Victoria, BC – Join us for featured reader Alice Major as part of the afternoon reading series at New Horizons in James Bay. Hosted by Sheila Martindale.

Wednesday, March 20 — noon: Anne Szumigalski lecture 

Marpeck Commons, Canadian Mennonite University, Winnipeg MB – Alice will deliver her Anne Szumigalski lecture, Scansion and Science — a second opportunity to hear it after the lecture was first presented at the Canadian Writers Summit in June, 2018.

Wednesday, March 20 — 5 pm: University of Winnipeg

University of Winnipeg, Department of English presents a reading for students and the public, hosted by Di Brandt. Room 2E40 on the second floor of the Helen Betty Osborne building at 511 Ellice Avenue. The second floor is accessible by elevator. Free and open to the public. Everyone is welcome.

Thursday Mar 21 — 7:30 pm: World Poetry Day

Robinson McNally Books, Grant Park, Winnipeg – Literary magazines Contemporary Verse 2 and Prairie Fire join forces for this celebration of UNESCO’s World Poetry Day. Featured guest Alice Major will be joined by two excellent local poets, Lori Cayer and Marjorie Poor. Audience members are invited to stay after the readings to chat with the poets and eat delicious cake.
